The Street Excellence Process provides a structured framework within which Local Authorities and other street stakeholders can come together to develop a coherent Vision, Strategy and Action Plan for managing and improving the street scene and environment.

The process map illustrated in Figure 1 below, is a generic approach that can be tailored to meet the particular circumstances facing the community whether there are established partnership arrangements already in place or whether these have to be created.

The heart of the process is the conduct of the Self Assessment using the Street Excellence Framework. This not only creates a baseline statement for the street/s but also provides a basis against which progress can be monitored in the future.
